Heather Lynn Photography blog: “FIGHT FOR LIVES GIVEAWAY RAFFLE”

First, I want to send out a very special “THANK YOU” to all of the vendors who donated their items and time to help with this special event! This is to benefit the American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life”.

Let me share a little about why I “Relay For Life”. In 2009 I was pregnant with my very first child. This was supposed to be one of the happiest times of my life. In July of 2009 when I was about 6 months pregnant, I lost my “Papa” to cancer. It was a devastating loss to our family and it seemed to happen so quick. Fast forward to October 2009, I lost my other Grandpa - also to cancer. He passed only 13 days before my beautiful daughter made her arrival into this world. This was such a difficult time for my family because we wanted to express our happiness and joy for the newest member of our family - but the pain of our loss was still heavy in our hearts.

So I Relay not only to honor their memory but to honor the memory of all of those who have lost their fight with cancer. I Relay to fight for the lives of those currently fighting their own cancer battles right now. I Relay to prevent anyone else from ever having to hear that painful diagnosis. I Relay so that no one has to go through the pain of losing their loved ones to such a horrible disease. I Relay because cancer can strike any one of us at any time - and I want to fight to make sure that doesn't happen anymore.

I started my journey with Relay For Life, last year, in 2010 with my Mom and good friend Beth. Our team name is “Fight For Lives” and our goal is to collect more donations each year and add more team members each year.

- Visit my “Relay For Life” team page and donate at least $10 to our team. We are team “Fight For Lives”. Once on the team page – please select a team member to donate to. (Make sure it shows up as team “Fight For Lives” when you go to the page) ENTRANTS: Try to even out the donations, please. When donating, you MUST put your name on there so that we can be sure in include everyone in the drawing! Comment here on the blog when both are done!
